Family

Breck and Gloria celebrated their 35th wedding anniversary in 2004. They have 3 children, Heather, Jennifer and Micah. Jennifer is Breck's Transaction Coordinator and Director of Marketing. Breck's mother, Thelma, also works in the office stuffing, addressing, and stamping envelops. She is 92 and nearly blind from macular degeneration but insists on helping. So when you get a letter with the stamp(s) crooked, sideways, or upside down it is not that we don't care, it is because she can't see.

NASCAR

Besides family, photography and Real Estate, Breck enjoys NASCAR. (A side effect from living and working near Charleson on the Trident Missile program.) This is also the reason Breck's kids have a perfect southern accent when ever they choose. Of course Breck & Gloria's NASCAR trip in 2004 to Darlington, SC also gave them a chance to visit old friends and photograph downtown Charleston. Gloria was a tour guide at Drayton Hall in Charleston, SC.   Drayton was completed in 1742, thirty-four years before the Declaration of Independance and ensuing Revolutionary War. It survived the Civil War and served as a residence for over 200 years. It is a Must See for anyone visiting Charleston, SC. Some additional Charleston photos are scattered through the photgraphy web page.

Woodworking

Woodworking affords an afternoon of relaxation enjoying the fragrance of the various hardwoods. Among Breck's favorites are Cocobolo, Bocote, Padauk, and Walnut. Bocote has a floral scent which always attracts bees when he is turning it on the lathe. They fly around land on everything looking for the nectar which must accompany such a fragrance. Finding none they reluctantly move on. Another wonderful wood is African Padauk. Breck once told Gloria, "If Kathy Ireland had my Padauk perfume, she could have any man she wanted." To which Gloria responded, "I'm sure that Kathy does quite well without your red sawdust which by the way stains all of your T-shirts." One of Breck's most recent projects is Des-Kart'. According to Breck, "There lies within the heart of everyone a desire for symmetry, balance and beauty. To this extent everyone is an artist whether it is writing, painting, sculpting, photography or just arranging the dinner table." Des-Kart' was designed to bring out the artist in you. The task is to arrange any 3 pieces of wood in a way that is pleasing to you. Re-arrange them often. Breck also enjoys making tables, boxes, pens, and other items. He estimates there are over 50 different woods in various pieces, boards, planks, and stumps in his workshop - all waiting for that special project.

AACT

Breck received his Pilot's certificate while attending seminary after college. At Lockheed he worked on the L-1011 Jumbo Jet as well as the Polaris, Poseidon, and Trident Missile Programs before transfering to NASA. You will find links to the Hubble Space Telescope press releases with thousands of fabulous photos in the "other links" webpage. Look up Dorados 30 or the whirlpool galaxy. "What makes everyting so facinating is that Astronomy, Cosmology, and Theology are all interlinked", remarks Breck. "Astronomy helps build the theories of Cosmology and gets us within minutes of the Big Bang but will never get us beyond the instant of origin. To step outside the universe requires more than logic and reason. It takes Faith. Faith is also our bridge to Theology. Faith, though often logical and reasonable is really beyond all logic and reason. My answer to a seminary final exam question of Why did God create the universe? was simply, He is an artist! And when I look at the Hubble photos or gaze at the stars with an inexpensive pair of binoculars I am reassured of my answer." Cayucos has so little ground light that the Milky Way glistens in the night sky and the Lenoid meteor showers in the fall are like the 4th of July.

Friends

Breck still takes time to see old high school and college friends, serve on the Cayucos Lion's board, and help Carol Cadoo, a local waitress/actress publish her first novel. Clients often become good friends. Breck is there for them as well. Whether it is helping them change a circuit breaker, paint the living room, or assist in unloading furniture Breck is eager to help. Breck also provides free Notary service to his clients and friends.

Real Estate

Breck built the first Internet Data Exchange (IDX) and Virtual Office Website (VOW) on the Central Coast. This provides his clients with the luxury of viewing current listings from their home or office. This also lets them use their time better and concentrate on the properties that interest them most. Breck wants your Real Estate transaction to be as smooth and hassle free as possible. Breck is among the first REALTORSŪ to use the TransactionPoint processing system. Clients can now enjoy online access to all their Real Estate documents. This expedites the process of collecting signatures where needed. The system also provides status of what needs to be done and when it is scheduled. Clients can see where the process is at any time. Shortly after the close of escrow copies of all documents are downloaded to a CD for each client. These modern conveniences are not meant to replace old fashioned friendly office visits or phone calls. Indeed many of Breck's clients find him the friendliest most professional agent they have encountered. But it is just another way of expanding service. When you need the best, Call Breck.
