At age four, Breck took his first photograph. The giant box camera was half his size, but he could hold it steady and flip the switch to capture those perfect family moments.



By age seven, Breck was the official family photographer. In high school, he purchased his first 35mm camera, and the artist found his medium.



Immersing himself in the process, Breck studied light, composition and darkroom techniques. By the time he entered Westmont College in Santa Barbara, Breck was famous for his photos and was recruited by the yearbook staff. But photography was not his only pursuit.

During his junior year, Breck met, courted, and wed Gloria, the love of his life.

Upon graduating with a degree in Economics, Breck took a position with Lockheed. Soon afterwards, Breck and Gloria began a family. Breck was a proud father, snapping numerous photos of the three beautiful children: Heather, Jennifer, and Micah.






Years later, these photos gave Gloria comfort and courage as she sat in the oncologist's chair receiving chemotherapy for breast and lung cancer. Every week, Gloria carried various photo albums to her appointments. The memories Breck captured in pictures kept her family's love in focus and her spirits high.

After three years of treatment, including a second round of chemotherapy, radiation, surgeries and two vacations in Disney World (courtesy of the grown children), Gloria was in remission, and the family rejoiced.

"If cancer teaches you anything, it's that life should be enjoyed. If you don't love what you're doing or where you're living, then move on," says Breck.

Breck and Gloria did just that. They moved from Houston to Cayucos, and they did what they loved. A history buff, Gloria loves giving tours at Hearst Castle, and Breck loves helping his clients buy and sell real estate.
